Hi, it’s Jacob here and in this short quick tip video, I’m going to show you how you can sign a PDF document on your iPhone using the new Preview app on iOS 26.

So, here you can see I’ve got a totally legit form that I’ve not just quickly made earlier, and I want to sign it at the bottom. In fact, when I made the form, I should have probably put a signature box on it, but I didn’t. So, here we go. Instead, we’re going to pretend there’s a box there, and we’ll sign it.

To do this, all we have to do on the iPhone is tap the plus button in the bottom right-hand corner. From here, we can simply tap on Add Signature. Now, these signatures will sync across your devices via iCloud. So if you’ve got an iPad or a Mac, you may have signatures here already, or it may be completely empty like mine is.

If you do have signatures saved, you can press the plus button to add a new one. But for me, I’ve got nothing saved, so I’m going to make a brand new signature now. We can simply do it by drawing on the phone screen using our finger. We can also turn the phone landscape if we want more room to draw, which might make a better result.

Obviously, this isn’t my real signature — I’m not that stupid. But when you’ve finished writing, you can press the tick in the top right-hand corner, and it will put it straight on the page for you, just like this.

From here, you can treat it like any other image. You can make it bigger or smaller, rotate it, and move it using your fingers. I can put it in position and make sure it’s the right size for the box — which isn’t there, as we mentioned earlier.

You can also add multiple signatures to the same document. So, I can press the plus button again, go to Signature, and now you’re going to see that one I made earlier is saved as an option. I can simply tap on there to put it back on my page.

It’s a really handy little feature to have — to be able to sign documents on the go from your phone.
