About this QuickTip
In iOS 26, the Photos app gets smarter with concert and sports recognition. See how to search by band, artist, or team, and bring up detailed event info with Visual Lookup.

There’s a really useful new feature in Photo Search, perfect if you enjoy going to live music or sports events.
When we now tap on the search bar, we can actually search for the name of a band or artist. You’ll notice a little ticket icon next to the artist name in the results. If I tap on Coldplay, I’m taken straight to all the photos I took at their concert.
Now, I’ll point out that I haven’t tagged these photos or put them in a “Coldplay” album. Instead, my iPhone has recognised that the venue and the date corresponded to a Coldplay show.
If I tap on one of the pictures, the Visual Lookup button at the bottom also shows a ticket icon. Tapping this opens an information panel, where I can select Coldplay Concert. From here, I get a rich info page with details of the event — including the venue, the date, a map, and even Apple Music playlists linked to the show. If I tap Setlist, it opens Apple Music and plays that concert’s setlist.
And it’s not just gigs — this works for sporting events too. I only have one in my camera roll, from a San Francisco Giants game. If I type Giants in the search bar, I get the same ticket icon. Tapping on it shows all my photos from that game.
Just like with concerts, Visual Lookup can tell me which teams were playing — in this case, the Braves vs the Giants — and brings up another detailed info page, including the score, venue, and more about the teams.
That’s the new Visual Lookup feature for concerts and sporting events in iOS 26. Check out my channel down below for tons more new things your iPhone can do — I bet you’ll find features you didn’t even realise existed. I’ll see you next time.
