If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably got hundreds of playlists saved in the Music app. And eventually, finding the one you want just isn’t worth the hassle. So you create another playlist instead… and the problem just gets worse!
Well, in iOS 26, we can finally organise our playlists properly by creating folders - and even folders inside folders - to arrange everything exactly how we want.
Simply tap the plus button at the top, then choose New Folder. I’m going to make one called “Apple Music Playlists” for the ones I’ve followed in Apple Music. Tap Create and it’s added. I’ll go back and create another one called “My Playlists” for the ones I’ve made myself.
To add playlists into folders, just drag and drop them. To make this easier, I’ll change my view from a long list to a grid of playlist artwork - just press More in the top-right corner and choose Grid. Now I can drag playlists straight into a folder, and the folder artwork updates to show a preview of what’s inside.
You can also drag multiple playlists at once. Just long press on one, then tap others with another finger to group them together. Drag them all at once into a folder, and they’ll move together.
Now I’ve got my playlists neatly arranged into folders, it’s much quicker to jump straight to the music I want.
This is just one of many new features in iOS 26. Apple Music also has Automix, which is absolutely brilliant - so check out my channel for that video, and subscribe for hundreds more iPhone QuickTips.
