Create 3D Graphs in Notes

About this QuickTip
In iOS 26, the Notes app takes Math Notes further with 3D graphs. See how to plot equations, adjust values, and explore data visually in three dimensions.
Transcript
Math Notes in iOS 26 have gained an extra dimension this year — literally. Yes, we can now create charts and graphs in three dimensions. (That was quite a good joke… anyway, moving on!)
You can now create 3D graphs in the Notes app simply by handwriting the equation you want to plot. Using the Markup tool, I’ll write:
z = x³ / y²
As soon as I finish writing, a pop-up appears because the iPhone has recognised this as an equation. And look — I’ve got the option to Insert 3D Graph.
When I do that, the graph appears in my note. I can move it around, resize it, and, best of all, explore the data in 3D by swiping my finger across it.
If I tap on the graph, a floating toolbar appears. The first option shows which equation is currently plotted (or multiple equations, if I’ve added more than one). The second lets me change the axes — repositioning where each axis begins and ends. I can even re-centre the graph if I need to.
And just like every other Math Note, I can model the data by tapping on any number in the original handwritten equation. Using the slider, I can move the value up or down — and the 3D graph updates instantly in real time.
This makes it possible to explore equations visually and interactively in a way that’s never been possible in Notes before.
It’s just one of the many new features in iOS 26 — some more useful, some more fun (like plotting 3D graphs!). Check out my channel down below to see everything else that’s new. I’ll see you next time.
